*Because students are required to earn half of the credits for their minor on University of Pittsburgh main campus, students who place out of language classes or who study abroad will have requirements waived and/or credits applied after they have completed at Pitt main campus at least half of the credits required for the minor option they are pursuing. Once other requirements have been fulfilled, any JPNSE course will count towards the required number of credits.
*First year language courses may be taken on an S/NC basis, but not second year language courses.
*Native speakers who place out of language courses are required to take option 3 to complete a Japanese minor.
