Brenda G. Jordan received her PhD from the University of Kansas in Japanese art history. She taught Japanese art history at the Florida State University before coming to Pitt in 2002. She has taught courses for the Departments of East Asian Languages and Literatures and History of Art and Architecture. Her research interests are early modern and modern Japanese art history, specifically issues of the dynamics of modernization and modernity in Japan.
